Debbie has focused on delivering practical solutions that strengthen our communities, protect working families, and improve the quality of life throughout the Southland.


She championed legislation to better protect Illinois homeowners by reforming the tax sale process, helping safeguard families from losing generational wealth through predatory tax sales. She has also worked to improve communication between hospitals and emergency contacts so families receive timely information during medical emergencies.


She fought to expand access to mental health services, strengthen consumer protections, support public safety initiatives, and advocate for investments that improve transportation, infrastructure, education, and economic opportunity throughout our communities.


She worked alongside local governments, community organizations, businesses, schools, and residents to secure resources, address local concerns, and ensure the voices of the Southland are heard in Springfield.
